CITY LAUNCHES END OF SPRING CLEANUP

RESIDENTS OFFERED FREE TRIPS TO CITY DUMP, E-WASTE DROP OFF AND DISCOUNTED PAINT FOR GRAFFITI CLEANUP IN CITY'S FIRST SPRING INTO CLEAN'

San Francisco, Ca – Mayor Newsom, City Administrator Edwin Lee and the Department of Public Works (DPW) launched a citywide Spring Cleanup today that will beautify several highly visible merchant corridors in the City and make resources available to property owners to cleanup and clean out their property. The new initiative, called Spring into Clean', is a coordinated public and private effort to raise the quality of life in San Francisco by helping residents and property owners.

Spring is the traditional time of year to take stock of our physical environment. We are happy to provide resources to property owners to help keep our city vibrant and clean, said Mayor Newsom.

San Franciscans will be given the opportunity to receive a voucher to dump unwanted debris, recycling and green waste at the city dump, purchase discounted paint for graffiti abatement and receive free cleaning supplies through the City's Adopt-A-Street and Graffiti Watch programs. In addition, SF Clean City will host a citywide E-Waste Drop off event.

Throughout the month of June, DPW will also blitz several high need areas with steam-cleaning and education and outreach. Program partners include Sunset Scavenger Company, Golden Gate Disposal and Recycling, SF Clean City, the Department of Environment, Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services, Cliff's Variety Store, Last's Paint Supply, Brownie's Hardware Store, Cole Hardware, and Kelly-Moore Paints.
