Between December 24 to January 2, the majority of the offices at the Department of Public Works will be closed and operating with minimal staff to observe regularly scheduled holidays in addition to participating in furlough days mandated by the City in order to close the budget deficit. DPW’s Operation’s Yard will continue to provide essential services including mechanical street cleaning and other services during the furlough days, the week of December 27.
The holiday mechanical street sweeping schedule is as follow:
Friday, December 24 (Holiday)—No Mechanical Street Sweeping
Monday, December 27—Regular Mechanical Street Sweeping is enforced
Tuesday, December 28— Regular Mechanical Street Sweeping is enforced
Wednesday, December 29— Regular Mechanical Street Sweeping is enforced
Thursday, December 30— Regular Mechanical Street Sweeping is enforced
Friday, December 31 (Holiday)—No Mechanical Street Sweeping
The Department of Public Works will resume full services on Monday, January 3, 2011. Residents can continue to call 311 to report and request services.
