TO HOLD SPECIAL ANTI-GRAFFITI MEETING
San Francisco, CA – The Department of Public Works and the Graffiti Advisory Board of the City and County of San Francisco announced today that it will conduct a special meeting on Saturday, January 20, 2007 from 9 am to 1 pm to discuss the escalating crisis of graffiti vandalism in the City. The group will also report on City strategies regarding enforcement, abatement and education and outreach. Called the Anti-Graffiti Super Huddle, the Graffiti Advisory Board will update members of the City's Graffiti Watch volunteer program and concerned members of the community.
The Huddle program will include a progress report on the City's abatement program and Graffiti Ordinance; a presentation on best practices in removing graffiti from public property; a discussion about how the courts are prosecuting graffiti vandalism; and a neighborhood perspective on how to recruit new volunteers.
